Kipp Hammon, DMD
After more than 30 years providing state-of-the-art care to the patients of Oregon Oral Surgeons, Dr. Hammon has retired. Dr. Hammon will be missed by patients, colleagues, and the staff at OOS. We know he will be having fun skiing, diving, sailing, camping, and giving back to his community. Thank you Dr. Hammon!!
Dr. Hammon is the son of a Naval aviator. He lived in California, Virginia and Maryland before attending junior high and high school in Rhode Island. Dr. Hammon then returned to Oregon, the home of his parents, to attend the University of Oregon. He graduated with honors in 1980. Dr. Hammon then attended OHSU School of Dentistry, graduating with honors in 1983. He then completed a one-year hospital dental residency at Denver General Hospital. This was followed by one-year residency in dental anesthesiology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Hammon then entered his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, New York. Dr. Hammon completed this training in 1988 and joined Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons P.C. Dr. Hammon practices the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery with emphasis on reconstructive surgery using dental implants. Dr. Hammon also treats a variety of TMJ, orthognathic, trauma and dental alveolar surgery patients. He is very interested in the use of various anesthetic techniques to improve patient comfort. Dr. Hammon is board certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Hammon has published scientific papers in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and has presented at the national meeting of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has also served as a board examiner for the Oregon Board of Dentistry and has served as president of Lane County Dental Society.
Dr. Hammon is married to Mari and they have two children. The Hammons love the outdoors and are active skiers, sailors, river runners and are supporters of Duck Athletics.
